I had fun creating my name in photoshop. I used purple because it is my favorite color.   I was surprised on how many slides it took me to complete this.  Over 100! This animation to me was very easy and took little time to make. This is so far my favorite animation project that I have done! :)

I used a soccer field as my background because soccer describes me too!

I really enjoyed using the squash and stretch method.  At first I had troubles with my name.  I figured it out and really enjoyed the rest of the time creating this animation.  I used over 60 slides to make this animation.  I used purple (my favorite color) as my background. I needed a ball shape but I didn't want the ball to be just a circle with color in the middle.  I decided to use a soccer ball instead of a plain ball.  Soccer is my favorite sport that is why I picked this as my ball.  This animation took me a while to complete because I wanted it to look good. At the end of my animation I had my soccer ball get bigger almost like it exploded...

My Name Personality Type

The other day I wanted to learn what my personality is. I went to http://www..com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp I learned that I am the following: Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Perceiving. I think the meaning of these do explain who I am.

On the left is a paragraph showing me what they think my personality is. Basically it is saying that I like to communicate with people and also that I like to make people cheer up.

To my left is percentages of my following four words. Extrovert was my highest percent 38%. Extrovert is when you are energized by time with others. My second word to describe me is feeling with 16%. Feeling is when you prioritize people and emotions.

It says that the person who my personality is with is Justin Bieber. We
both love to make people laugh and smile. Also, we like to take risks and
have a good time. No rules would be fun but I think I should have rules. Lets
face it... With out rules people would be a mess!

Bouncy Ball Animation

Bouncy Ball

I made a bouncy ball in photoshop.  I kept messing up at first because I kept deleting my layers in photoshop. But then I figured what I was doing wrong. I started making the ground first. Then in a new layer i added a ball. I picked the 2 colors, blue and purple, because they are my favorite colors. When I was doing this animation I got to learn new things. I learned about squash and stretch. Take the ball for example as the ball speeds up with speed the ball gets stretched out. When the ball hits the ground the ball squashes. The ball is being squashed down so you need to make the ball more wider when it hits the ground.
I ended up making 13 layers to this animation.

"They loved your GPA, then they saw your Tweets"

This article is about colleges looking at what you post.  Little do people know, college professors actually look at what you post on the internet. They look on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, etc... Question. Would you want to go to school with a person that takes selfies with guns? Didn't think so. In fact many colleges don't let people go to their college do to what they posted online no matter how good their GPA is. Be carful on what you post online.

In this article some things really surprised me. In paragraph two it said that "Perhaps she hadn't realized that colleges keep track of their social media mentions". I thought wow, people actually didn't know that. The way I found out about how colleges look on your social network was when I went to Fort Hays Soccer Camp. The coaches all talked about that yes you do need to be very careful on what you post online. They also said they have not given out soccer scholarships to people that were very good and had a good GPA because of what they posted online. Another thing that surprised me was that people actually had jobs to look at peoples social medias. I just thought if colleges really needed to make sure people were safe or good for their school the teacher would search them for themselves. I guess that was not the case though.

In this article some things confused me. Overall this whole article confused me. I was confused by how people had jobs to look at social media. I was also confused why they do that. I get that they want to know if the student will harm other people though. If they went on a guys Facebook and his profile picture was of him holding a gun with a mean look on his face I wouldn't want him anywhere near me. But if you go deeper than just looking at recent status updates, would that be called stalking? Or would that be an invasion of privacy?

This article doesn't impact me. First of all, I already knew that colleges do this. Second of all, even if I didn't know about colleges doing this I still watch what I like, comment, and share on Facebook. Also what I say and post. I do that because I have family on my Facebook and Family friends and I don't want to like or post anything inappropriate. Anyways, I don't have a need to post anything bad.

Personal Logo

For my logo I wanted to express who I was.  A big part of my life is soccer.  Then I figured out that soccer should defiantly be in my logo one way or another.  At first I was just going to color a soccer ball with different colors. Then I thought that would be to simple and I need to try to challenge myself.

I went on google to get the soccer ball just in black and white. Then I screenshot the ball and pasted it into Illustrator.  I thought the ball needed some color but not a lot. I used the live paint tool in Illustrator to get color.  The colors I used were yellow, white, back, orange, and of course red. I used red, yellow, and orange for the flames coming out of my soccer ball. I used the white tool to make some of the black lines that I didn't like in my soccer ball to disappear and it worked.

After I did the soccer ball I felt that it needed a border on the outside. Then I put a circle around the soccer ball. I didn't like that. I tried something new and put an oval around the ball. That looked okay but I felt like needed something more.

I then added a name. I had to go downloaded a free font that I liked off the internet and put it into Illustrator.  The name came to me.  Ashlee's soccer club. It just fit.

Then my teacher had an idea to have cleats to be in my logo. I really liked the idea so I put the soccer ball and my logo name inside of the cleat. My favorite color is purple. I thought that the laces should be purple.  Inside of my cleat there was this really weird almost like a unicorn head. I hated how it looked. I then just put a box over it and filled it in.  Finally all that was left was to was to center my logo. BAM! Finished! It looks great!

Pentagram

A couple days I went on this site where it told me what my font was. It asked me four questions.

Are you emotional, or rational?
Are you understated, or assertive?
Are you traditional, or progressive?
Are you relaxed, or disciplined?

My answers were: Emotional, understated, progressive, and finally disciplined.

Finally the guy put all my answers together and gave me a font was New Alphabet.

I used New Alphabet and went onto illustrator and typed in my first and last name using this font. Then I learned how to make my font bigger. I also centered my font.  Then on each of the letters needed I did "anatomy of a font".  It was fun for me to learn how to label letters.

What is Graphic Design

What is Graphic Design?

Graphic Design is a visual way to communicate. There are many different types of design jobs. For example  graphic designer, UI/UX designer, visual designer, motion designer, digital designer, web designer, animator, production artist, or graphic artist. Graphic design is about using words and images to get a message through.

One person connection to graphic design is that my brother has a friend that loves graphic design. He showed me a bunch of different stuff that he could do with his computer. I found it really interesting to learn about.

Another personal connection is my dad's work. Every now and then i go to his company "Bring your kid to work day" and I go to this IT room. They do lots of graphic designs wether it's on the computer or if they print the designs.

My last connection is going to summer school just for computer stuff. We learned all kinds of different things. We learned about how different colors could go into other colors to make new colors. I found that really fun and I had a good time.
